DoD Healthcare Spending for 2010 - $47 billion
April 22, 2009Healthcare spending of DoD is set to reach $47 billion in 2010. The massive expansion of military compensation spending in the last ten years has put a tremendous stress on the system. As Secretary Gates put it - “Health care is eating the DoD (Department of Defense) alive”. In 2009, nearly quarter of the defense budget is allocated for military compensation.
